Richard G. Lamb, PE, CPA
President and
founder

Richard G. Lamb, PE, CPA, has worked in the field of
maintenance and reliability since 1988 after 13 years
working as a business strategic planner and design
engineer. His expertise has evolved to tapping the
business returns that are possible through maintenance
by bringing financial-statements-based, MBA-type
practices and ERP-type
technologies to the profession's knowledge base. His
role as a consultant has become to mentor firm's as they
put the practices and technologies into play to generate
new returns.
In the late 1980's, he was
the first to fully map how availability performance
would be designed into a manufacturing plant. His book,
“Availability
Engineering and Management for Manufacturing Plant
Performance,” published the findings
and was awarded the Society of Logistic Engineers’ 1995
Armitage Medal for outstanding contributions to
logistics literature.
His book, "Maintenance
Reinvented and Business Success," (2009) defined
and explained the MBA-type practices and ERP-type
technologies that have been absent from the standard
practices for maintenance and reliability; preventing
them from delivering their intended value for a firm's
business success.
As
contributing editor to the Hydrocarbon Processing
magazine, he wrote a monthly column titled "HP in
Competitiveness" that appeared from July 1997
through April 1999. He has authored a considerable
number of articles and papers.
Lamb
is a registered professional engineer and certified
public accountant in the State of Texas. He received a
bachelor of science in civil engineering, bachelor of
business administration and master of business
administration from the University of Houston.
